Personalization Tips Personalization Tips
Many students and instructors complain
that the distance education environment is not very personal. However, you
can personalize it with just a few easy steps.
- Require a biography for the first
assignment during the first week and include your own biography.
This assignment, when utilized early in the class, can do two things.
Firstly, it can help students become familiar with the discussion area and
Blackboard. Secondly, it will help you and your students become
familiar with each other.
- Encourage students to create a homepage
and incorporate some part of that in their grade. Perhaps consider
just giving bonus points for homepages. Technical Writing and business
can use the homepage as and actual assignment. History classes can
require that students provide links to favorite or project webs on the
internet.
- Change the colors on Blackboard or your
webpage.
